Confirmed Blessings

The Good News Bible Translation of Galatians 6:9 states the following: “So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.” We have to patiently prepare for our blessings while consistently working towards them. It's easy to become discouraged when you're constantly praying for something, and don't receive it on your timing. It's even more discouraging when your blessings seem out of reach. We have to realize that the end of the tunnel becomes more distant when we're standing still. God has the ability to bless us with anything we ask for, but are we willing to put in the necessary work for it? The New Living Translation of Matthew 7: 7-8 states the following: "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." The suffix "ing" indicates action. This verse doesn't say ask, sought, or knocked. It encourages us to keep on asking, and to keep on seeking the blessings God has prepared for us. The key is continuously working and moving towards what we're praying for!

Let's take a moment to revisit Galatians 6:9. The first thing that stuck out to me was the end of this verse: "the time will come to reap the harvest" As long as you're praying and moving towards what God has promised you, you'll receive it at the right time. We often get discouraged because God's timing is different than ours. The last time I checked, God doesn't break promises or sell unrealistic dreams. Despite how long you have to wait, the blessing you're working towards is yours and well worth it! The next part that stuck out to me is the most important part of this verse in my opinion: "For if we don't give up". It's important to know we'll reap the harvest at the right time, but this loses all significance if we give up too soon. To be completely honest, it doesn't make sense to give up. Outside of quitting on a perfect God and what he promised you, haven't you been through enough? Haven't you cried enough tears? Haven't you dealt with enough stress and pain? Haven't enough people doubted and criticized you? Why would you endure this much pain, and not get a guaranteed reward from it? You've gone through too much not to get what God promised you. Go get your blessing! It's YOURS! God didn't just prepare your blessings, he prepared a way for you to get them! Don't let what you've been through break you. What you've been through will eventually become your breakthrough, if you don't give up. 2017 is the year you go after everything you've been praying for! You deserve it and God wants you to have it!
