Microwave Results

One of the most difficult things to do is to remain patient during a rough season or dire situation. This occurs when we focus on what we're going through instead of the one that will get us through it. We must understand that God can alter any situation or season, and we have to remain patient until this occurs. Patience can be defined as having faith in God's timing. This was difficult for me after having surgery to repair my patellar tendon. After six weeks of immobility, I was eager to resume my normal training routine, but I realized that God's timing was better than mine. God could've allowed me to heal in six weeks, but it wouldn't have made sense if I suffered another injury due to rushing my recovery. So I consistently prayed for patience and trusted God's plan for a full recovery.

In order to receive the blessings God has in store for us, we have to avoid the temptation of seeking microwave results. Although God delivering blessings on our time sounds appealing, it's better to trust God's timing. Galatians 6:9 (Good News Bible) states "So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.” God knows what's best for us, and will allow our blessings to arrive at the right time.

The results and blessings God prepares are far better than what we imagined. We could be praying for an apartment when God wants us to have a mansion. You could be praying for a new job, but God sees you running a business. You may see yourself as an Associate degree graduate when God has a Doctorate program with your name on it. What God is preparing for us may take some time, but we have to understand that it's worth the wait. Think about a Thanksgiving meal. It involves hours of preparation and anticipation, but it's always worth the wait. God works the same way! We serve a God that delivers full course blessings, and he loves you too much to let you settle for a fast food blessing. Stay patient and trust God!
